After 18 months away form the oche it has been absolute delight to see so many people back playing and enjoying the darts and the companionship of team mates and opponents across all the leagues.
As you all know we had to have a slight restructure to the leagues due to losing a few sides, but we did invite new sides from The Fleurs, The Crown, DSAA and the Rock Rose.
We have also had a few teams change venues, and also few transfer of players around the teams as well. Unsurprisingly a few players have opted at this time not to return to the oche, and I know they hope to return when they personally feel safe to do so. What I do know that the league and all our players are here and ready for them when they want.
Of course one big difference for the next year is that darts for existing teams is free for a whole year and knockout events are free to all players from last season and this season. This is due to a combination of using league reserves, sponsorship and the £1000 grant from Dover Town Council.
Our first set of events are confirmed and are at the Dover Working Mens Club, and I urge all players to come along and support. I know some of you will be concerned about chalking, but I am confident that there will be some players that would be prepared to help you or chalk for you. And remember, with no entrance fee you have nothing to lose!

So how is this season going, we have some early pacesetters , in division one the Rock Rose are top, losing only one of their seven games to date, as have the Old Endeavour and the Hairy Bull, but they have only played six games to date.
The newly promoted Real Diamonds and the Boars Head A are currently in the bottom two, with Real’s only win coming on the opening night of the season against the Boars Head. The Boars are still looking for a win, but after seeing them first hand I think they will be picking up a win sooner rather than later.
In division two Eagle A are enjoying life after promotion from division three, they have one six on the bounce and are the only side in the division with a 100% win record.
They are closely followed by the Diamond C who have won six of their five games. there is a second 100% record in division two, the Old Endeavour Spartans who are still looking for their first win, they have however lost three of their games 5-4.
In division three the Crown Misfits are top of the table, this new side have won six of their seven games to date, they lost the first game of the season against the Sportsman and won all six since then.
We then have the Fleurs and the Sportsman both with four wins out of six.
As for the big scores, we have seen plenty of 180s so far. Luke Jackson and Andy Howell have hit three each in Division One and Simon Scott of the DSAA Misfits has hit two in Division Three.
We have seen plenty of decent checkouts as well, George Clark of the Diamond as the highest in Division One with a 149. Tom Bowes of the Hairy Crown has checked out 126 in Division Two and the biggest so far this season is from Blake Manton of the Crown Misfits with a 157.
Don’t forget that all the 180s and 100+ checkouts that we have seen on result cards are listed on the website.
Hope to see you all on the oche and also at our knockouts over the next few weeks.
Paul
