Second half of season, here we come!

The turnaround of the season is here, and there is plenty play for in all the divisions.

In division one the Diamond and the Bull A picked up wins moved two points clear at the top of the table, the Diamond beat the Real Diamonds 6-3 and the Bull A beat Boars Head Arrows by the same margin. The Old Endeavour who were top lost 6-3 against the Hairy Bull and the Dewdrop who were also joint top with the other three had a bye this week.

These three games had 180s from Brian Pearce, Mark Clayton, Phil Hayes, Jim Yarwood, Ash Battie, Kev Hackett, Tony Selby, Dave Heath and Paul Kermode. There was also a 154 checkout for John Hughes of the Old Endeavour, the second highest of the season so far.

The Dwmc B beat the Phoenix Maddogs 5-4, Martin Sammonds hit a 180 and the Boars Head C beat the Bull B 5-4.

Whilst the scoreline in these games were different, all division one matches were won by the same team from the first game of the season.

The Three Cups of division two were 8-1 winners against the Bull Dogs, as always if you the only person to lose the team like to name and shame, so if you didnt know, it was JAMIE BREEDEN .

Second placed Crown & Sceptre beat the Boars Head A 7-2, their first defeat in seven games. The Admiral Harvey A were also 7-2 winners, they beat the Phoenix Rising. Fourth placed Diamond C beat the Carriers B 5-4, the same score as Tilmanstone against the Admiral Harvey B.

The Boars Head B picked up a much needed win, they beat the DSAA Hope 7-2.

Bob Barrington and Shaun Breeden both hit 180s for the Admiral Harvey B, and compared to the first week of the season, Tilmanstone’s win against the Admiral Harvey A and the Boars Head B win against the DSAA hope were the only games that had different winners on the night.

In to division three, we have some disappointing news that the Sea Lions have pulled out of the league. Rule 16 has now been applied.

16. If any team withdraws from the league during the first half of the season then all results including that team, including 180s and 100+ will be removed from standings. If team pulls out in second half of season, only those game after the turn around will be removed from standings.

On with those that did play though.

The Hairy Crown are top of the shop, they had a cracking 9-0 win against the Phoenix St Pauls. Luke Kennett hit a 180 and Jack Gealer checked out on 109 for the Hairy.

The Northern Diamonds have now gone eleven games unbeaten, there last defeat was against the Carriers A, who they beat this week 6-3.

The Old Endeavour won 5-4 against the Sportsman, all on the last game of the match. Sam Arbon won the important final game.

DSAA Misfits also won 5-4, this was there first win of the season which obviously means that was a reverse of the first half of the season.

Finally the Phoenix C beat the Crown Smiffys 5-4.

Happy darting people!

Half way

Well, that first half of the season has just flown past, here is the halfway point round up.

In division two the Three Cups remain unbeaten, this week they beat the Phoenix Rising 7-2 and their closest rivals, the Crown & Sceptre won by the same margin and sit just two points behind them.

The Admiral Harvey A had another good win, this week they beat the DSAA Hope 7-2, Peter Phillips checked out on 109. Other than the Three Cups, who have been in form all season, the most recent on form side is the Boars Head A. They also won 7-2 this week, they beat the Carriers B.

The Bull Dogs won 5-4 against second to bottom Tilmanstone, and the Diamond beat bottom side Boars Head B 7-2.

Hairy Crown and Northern Diamonds are joint top of division three. The Hairy beat the Nelson and the Northern Diamonds beat the DSAA Misfits, both winning 6-3.

Third placed Carriers Arms bounced back from last weeks defeat, beating the Sea Lions 7-2. Biggest winners on the night were the Phoenix C, they won 8-1 against the Sportsman. Charlie Wells checked out on 106 for the Phoenix.

The Phoenix St Pauls were 5-4 winners against the Old Endeavour and finally the Crown Smiffys beat the DSAA C 5-4. The match included a 180 for Colin Biggs and a 148 checkout for Ken Smith.

In division one we still have four sides tied at the top of the table. They all won this week.

The Old Endeavour beat the Phoenix Maddogs 8-1, the Diamond beat the Boars Head C 7-2, Bull A beat the DWMC 5-4 and the Dewdrop beat the Hairy Bull 6-3.

Week 10 – Plus end of season knockout news.

So we are one week away from the turn around of the season, and the leagues are really taking shape for an exciting second half of the campaign.

Top of division three are the Hairy Crown and the Northern Diamonds.  The Hairy beat the Carriers 5-4, the Carriers were on that amazing winning run.  The match included 180s from Malcolm Graham and Paul Stow.  This defeat puts Carriers only two points of the top spot, so they are in the running and will be tough to beat in the second half of the campaign.

The Norther Diamonds picked up a 9-0 against the Sea Lions and the Nelson beat the Old Endeavour 5-4, the Nelson are third in the standings.

The battle at the phoenix went in favour of the C side, they beat the Phoenix St Pauls 6-3 and the Sportsman pciked a much needed win, they beat the DSAA C 6-3.  The DSAA Misfits also lost, they are still looking for a win this season.  This latest defeat was a 6- against the Crown Smiffys.

The Three Cups winning streak continues, they beat the DSAA Hope 7-2, second placed Crown are four points behind them and they beat the Bull Dogs 5-4.

The Admiral Harvey A and the Diamond C are third and fourth.  The Diamond beat the Harvey A 6-3 this week, both these sides are on the hunt for promotion, maybe too much to ask for them to catch the Cups, but second place will be in their sights.

It wasn’t a good night for the Harvey, the B Side lost 7-2 against the inform Boars Head A.  Maybe the bad start to the season will be their downfall, but the Boars Head will be thinking if they can stay on this run they also have a real outside chance of pushing for promotion.

Tilmanstone picked up their second win of the season, they beat the Phoenix Rising 5-4 and finally the Carriers B had a strong 7-2 win against the Boars Head B.

You know when your side has been on a bad run, results are posted on Facebook with a “Real Diamonds won a game!!!!”, they beat the Boars Head C 5-4 and Simon Lee hit a 180.  They are now four points clear of bottom spot, the Bull B occupy this at the moment and are yet to win a match.  They lost 8-1 against the Hairy Bull this week, there was a 180 for Ryan Short, he also hit a 100 checkout.  Carl Booker checked out on 121, as did Dave Heath in a 12 dart leg.

The Dewdrop Oast were 7-2 winners against the Phoenix Maddogs, Mick Law of the Maddogs checked out on 132.  Martin Sammonds of the DWMC hit a 102 checkout, they beat the Boars Head Arrows 7-2.

And last of all the Old Endeavour beat the Bull A 5-4. making the top of division one at this moment in time tied with four teams.  The Old Endeavour, Diamond, Bull A and the Dewdrop.  The first three of them are only split by one game, this jst goes to show that every game in every match is important.

This big match included a 180 for Paul Perkins and a 105 checkout for Gary Mills.
