Week 2 – 14.04.2017

Week two of the Dover Invitation Darts League, and I start with some exciting news that this week a new website will go on line. This will bring us nicely up to date with modern technology, allow the site to be viewed on mobile devices, tablets and laptop.

A huge thank you to Jim Clarke who you will probably all recognise from the Facebook page or from playing his darts in the past from the Angling Club, with the team moving to the Carriers this season.

Jim has built the site template ready for us to upload the vast history that we now hold, so it is going to take a while to get it all up to date. As we learn the site capabilities more and more over the coming months it would be great to add the Sunday and Thursday Leagues to it, maybe I can even convince the ladies league to provide some information so we can have a real website for all darts in Dover.

If you see Jim around, make sure you say thanks!

Ok, this weeks darts.

The Three Cups in division three look a strong side, they won for the second time this season, this week an 8-1 win against the Nelson. The Carriers B are the only other side to have two wins out of two so far, they beat the DSAA C 9-0, bob Belsey hit a 171, a maximum on the 19s.

The Carriers A ere 5-4 winners against the DSAA Wanderers, The Eagle Drifters won 6-3 in their first game of the season. The final game of the night in division three was a 5-4 win for Phoenix St Pauls against Northern Diamonds.

In division two three sides have started with two wins so far. Boars Head A, Bull Dogs and the Admiral Harvey.

The Boars Head A won 7-2 against the Phoenix C, Graeme Clewlow checked out on 144, the Bull Dogs won 6-3 at the Three Cups and the Admiral Harvey won 5-4 against the DSAA Hope.

Phoenix Rising won 5-4 against the Boars Head B, and there were big wins for the Bull B and the Boars Head C, they both won 7-2 against the Tilmanstone Welfare Club and the Crown & Sceptre respectively.

In division one the DSAA Oast had a cracking 9-0 win against the Admiral Harvey. The Bull A and the Boars Head Arrows were both 7-2 winners. The Bull beat DWMCA, the match included a 110 checkout for Tony Selby and a 180 for Ash Battie. The Arrows beat the Crown Maddogs.

The Old Endeavour came from behind to beat the Diamond 5-4 and the Hairy Bull won by the same margin against the DWMC B. There were two 180s for Dave Heath and one for Ryan Short, both of the Hairy.

Finally, the Diamond C beat the Real Diamonds 5-4, I am informed that if Teresa Brown had not hit double top they would have lost, but this might be a ploy to get her name in the blog, so I have added it just to put a smile on her face.
