Its Christmmaaaaaaassssssssss!!!

What a year of darts we have had, action packed and now with the new longer league format virtually no weeks without any darts.  The support from you all, week in week out is really appreciated.  Not just by the committee, but the landlords/landladies of the league for making the choice to take part on a weekly basis, and actually I think that you all appreciate each other in making the league what it is.  Yes we all go out to win, but the encouragement I see teams give each other week in week out is superb.

All of this are part of the reasons why I, and I am sure the rest of the committee do what we do.  Yes the eye role moments happen when I think why do we bother, but they far outweighed by moments of joy, so in 2019 I am looking forward to more and more of those moments of joy.

On with the darts, and a reminder that 21st December is the Nigel Pascall Cup, all are welcome.

NIGEL PASCALL CUP – THE DIAMOND 21ST DECEMBER 8PM

In division three the Nelson lost for the first time, they were beaten by the Eagle 5-4, and with the Phoenix C winning for the seventh game on the trot they are now two points top of the table and unbeaten.  They beat the Misfits 8-1 this week and they join the Diamond in division one as the only unbeaten side.

The Sportsman beat the Northern Diamonds 6-3, and the Phoenix Rising won by the same margin against the DSAA C.  The recent bad form of the Old Endeavour carried on, they lost 6-3 against the Eagle A, that’s four defeats on the trot.

The Whitfield Clubs lead at the top of the table has increased to four points, they beat the Boars Head A 6-3.  Dave Buddle of the Boars Head checked out on 160, the highest checkout of the season.

Jim Yarwood of the Real Diamonds hit a 180 in their 7-2 win against the Dewdrop Harvey and Nathan Grant of the Dewdrop C hit a 180 in their 6-3 win against the Bull Dogs.

Another tight game was a 5- 4 win for the DSAA against Tilmanstone, one that sees the Anglers starting to pull away from the relegation zone.  The Diamond C lost 6-3 to the Crown B and see themselves pulled toward the drop zone.

Eight 180s in division one, making it ten overall on the night in the league.

Mick Mendham of the DWMC Oast and Luke Kennett of the Hairy Crown both hit 180s, the finishing was not bad either.  101 for Steve Roberts for the Oast in their 9-0 win.

They were not the only 9-0 winners on the night. The Old Endeavour beat the Crown & Sceptre, skipper Al Terry hit a 180 for the Old E.

In form Billy Bristow hit two 180s for the Three Cups in their 6-3 defeat against the Hairy Bull.  Dave Heath hit a 180 for the Hiary and Mark Leeming checked out on 116 for the Cups.
